On March 27th, the electronic music and art festival AUDRA took over the Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius for one night. Alongside the music program, the art program brought together a selection of works and performances. 

 

In the spaces of the Contemporary Art Center, dancing bodies and the flickering pixels of artworks on screens merge into a collective body. Hypnotic rhythms dissolve the last snow, time, and the anxieties of contemporaneity. In a mise-en-scène of ecstasy created for one night, the AUDRA Showcase art program invites audiences to experience performances, installations, and digital art.

 

Our bodies are not sealed, isolated entities—they are fluid organisms, extended through signals, microbial symbioses, and algorithmic infrastructures. Movements circulate like data, while memories are archived on servers. Corporeality here emerges as a network, existing within a broader network of bodies—bacterial, celestial, aquatic, virtual, and mechanical.

 

Where does the individual body end and the collective begin—and how does this boundary shift in digital space?

 

The selected performances bring the body into physical space, while video works immerse us in digital universes: luminous virtual ecologies, fictional swamp bodies reconstructed through 3D and computed tomography scans, abandoned objects digitized and embedded into synthetic landscapes. Here, it is crucial to remember that the digital always possesses its own material body and modes of expression. The selected artists, in different ways, digitize and gamify their experiences, permeated by corporeality and movement.

 

At the edges of the party, pulsating, mutating bodies move from screens onto the dance floor. The experience of rave and contemporary art generates a temporary, embodied, and ecstatic condition in which bodies quite literally intertwine and merge, forming a single moving organism.

 

The program presents works by international artists, bringing together performances and video works into a shared field of experience.
